WHITE ROSE GOLF SOCIETY SET STANDARD

The #WhiteRose Golf Society team of Ben Mulvaney and Nick Hymas proved they were in it to win it as they claim the 9th edition of the SGSC #GolfSociety Cup played on Saturday 30th September. In a very competitive field of 20 plus pairings, made up of 13 different societies the White Rose returned nines Stableford scores of 23 & 23, to give them a total of 46 Stableford points to take the title in style. Their combine round really was something of golfing beauty, with seven net Birdies & two eagles. Ben rolled in a Net eagle put on the 5th Green & Nick recorded a hole in one, holing a majestic eight iron on the par three 12th .

With the Filipino Golfers in the Middle East returning 43 Stableford points they did all they could to get to the top of the leaderboard but in the end came up three points short. The partnership of Rey Lapa & Deborah Chang combined exceptionally well on the day, recording six net Birdies & the single net eagle.

The last prize on the day went to a new team in the Golf Society cup Rising #Etihad Golfers Society with the pair of Abdul Moiz Khan & Namir Al Naimi who were delighted with their round as they both played some great golf. They narrowly beat another newly form team, the aptly named Angry Birdies Golf Society. Third placed went down to the wire and was decided by a back six holes scorecard playoff, with Abdul & Namir just pipping the Angry Birdies.

With the Conares Golf Society League just around the corner, the Golf Society Cup enabled all team captains and players the chance to mingle ahead of the much anticipated series of society matches.
