From January Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club launches a truly innovative and unique concept, the first UAE Golf Society League.  The event will pool 24 UAE Golf Societies into 4 separate leagues.  Each league plays 1 fixture a month from January until May.  4 Societies then qualify for the semi final and the final to be held throughout June.  Each society submits 2 teams of 2 players to each fixture who play their opponents in a Betterball Matchplay format.

Martin Duff, SGSC Director of Golf commented, “We are truly overwhelmed by the interest.  The concept was born on the back of the success of the 1st KLM Golf Society Cup held back in October and society committees are delighted to have the opportunity to compete more regularly against other guilds and at reduced rates”.
SGSC Golf Sales and Marketing Manager Iris Ebel added “It’s a truly unique and exciting concept that will no doubt grasp the interest of the UAE’s golfing community.  In addition it will entice interest from golfers who are not actually members of either golf clubs in the UAE or even the EGF.  Corporate interest is also likely due to the networking opportunities and brand exposure”.
