Does SGSC operate a junior golf programme?

Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club is 100% committed to the future of golf. This commitment is underlined by the Club's enrolment on the internationally recognised Young Masters Golf Programme (YMG). This British designed system includes 8 levels that takes children (aged between 5 – 18 years) from absolute beginners (cadet level) to a professional standard (Masters level 4). Each level takes 8 weeks to complete and the end of each session includes a test which grades their knowledge of technique, etiquette, rules and playing ability. Also at the end of each session is a tournament tailored for juniors of all ages and abilities.

Significantly each child can achieve a playing standard proficient enough to play on the full golf course after just 16 weeks.

How are the classes structured?

The professionally structured classes last for 1 hour and are held once a week at the same time and day. Entrants get their own folder which details (in the forms of text and pictures) step by step learning, allowing juniors to re-cap, refresh or catch up at any stage.
